Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome the 21st International Mime Art Festival, which will take place between 22-27 October 2021 Warsaw, Poland. As always, our meetings are a journey through a variety of forms of contemporary pantomime theatre in Europe. It is a theatre form, which despite different roots has a common challenge – the idea of art beyond words. Original poetics, humor, surprising sensibility and emotionality of creators and performers make pantomime transcend obvious definitions. This year’s shows are capable of emotionally moving, asking questions, astonishing and charming with their beauty. And sometimes they just make you laugh until you tear up. Thanks to artists from France, Germany, Norway, Poland, Denmark and Russia, this year’s edition of the Festival will show an intriguing and touching face of the beautiful art of conscious silence. The Festival is organized by the Warsaw Mime Centre, the place for the celebration of the Art of Pantomime; the event is co-organized by the “Alternatywy” Cultural Centre of Ursynów. We believe that connecting a new spot on the cultural map of Warsaw to the Festival with over 20 years of tradition behind it will bring you many positive surprises and beautiful artistic experiences. It will also let you meet an art form that despite its long tradition, can still be rediscovered.
