"Innocent Street"
This short production was created thanks to intense workshopping alongside the French director Lionel Menard. It tells a story of a chance meeting in a place that was anything but accidental. Humor, time compression and a clear story that leaves space for your own interpretation of the story being told.
Written by: Lionel Menard
Cast: Paulina Staniaszek, Aleksandra Batko, Maja Rękawek, Gabriela Całun, Małgorzata Watras, Renata Birska,
Maciej Jan Kraśniewski, Bartłomiej Ostapczuk.
The Group of the Studio of the Warsaw Mime Center
The Studio is a place where year-round mime classes are taught by Bartłomiej Ostapczuk. They allow you to learn the secrets of the art of pantomime and experience the kind of theatre where the actor speaks only with his or her body. It's also a space for workshops, etude creation, theatre production, cooperation with international directors of mime theatre, as well as an outlet for the team to create international projects of theatre beyond words.
Since 2008, when the WMC was established, several dozens of people within the Warsaw area alone decided to take interest in the art of mime theatre.
By taking part in all-year-round courses and individually creating études and performances, they have been proving that this kind of theatre is still alive.
We like to pride ourselves on the fact that a new circle of enthusiasts of this beautiful art has been growing around the Warsaw Mime Centre at Teatr Dramatyczny.

Alife ́s Concept
The piece evolves around the relationship of a couple and their daily activities.
It talks about romance and the problem of getting used to one another, of fading feelings and the routines that slowly make us fall asleep in life.
Time stretches and contracts within the piece. sometimes the characters seem to have stopped to move. They continue in slow motion, sit on a sofa or take a bath.
then they suddenly speed up making their beds, tidying up, washing the dishes, get- ting dressed, leaving the house.
“sich einleben...” the origin of the title, means getting used to life.
A simple table and a white tissue are the only props on the stage as two people find out what it means to get used to love. the remaining space is filled with dance, acrobatics object manipulation and the music.
It all starts in a bar on a night like any other, when two musicians begin to play.
It is the night where all begins and the night where it all ends…
