The French company, founded by Jolanda Löllmann and Charlie Denat, has for years been searching for new forms of expression at the intersection of contemporary dance, puppet theatre and pantomime. The result of these artistic explorations is "Short Stories" — an internationally awarded triptych of short physical theatre forms.

The performance consists of three separate stories: "Alias", "Nonna(s) Don't Cry" and "Le troisième Pas". Each of them explores a different dimension of the relationship between the human being and the puppet, asking questions about identity, transience, memory and interdependence. With extraordinary precision, the artists combine animation, dance and pantomime, creating images full of poetry, humour and emotion.

"Short Stories"
A triptych of short forms of physical puppet theatre and pantomime.

Short Stories is a trilogy exploring different encounters between the human body and the puppet. With humour and tenderness, it reveals our mutual dependence and the bonds that accompany us throughout life. The three short forms combine physical puppet theatre with contemporary dance. Their strength lies in the grace and precision of the two performers, whose fluid movement and light, almost weightless presence create moving, poetic moments.

"Alias"
In a subtle and sensual way, Alias reveals a man who tries to free himself from his own shells and sets out on a journey towards discovering his "other self", hidden deep within him.

"Nonna(s) Don't Cry"
A poetic tribute to the process of ageing and an invitation to broaden our perspective on different generations. A solo that gradually and almost imperceptibly transforms into a physical dialogue between two women of different ages, two generations, the past, the present and the future.

"Le troisième Pas"
Le troisième Pas, or "the third step", reveals the relationship between two dancers-puppeteers and one puppet. Three bodies constantly move between the forms of solo, duet and trio. It is a poetic choreography exploring the relationships we create throughout life and the interdependence that connects us.
