11-13.10.2024

Dear Guests,
We are pleased to present the 24th International Mime Art Festival, which for the fourth time will be held at the Ursynów Cultural Center "Alternatywy." From October 11 to 13,2024 we will take you on a journey through the diversity of contemporary mime theater forms in Europe—a theater that, despite its diverse roots, is united by the increasingly challenging idea of art beyond words. The original poetics, humor, and surprising sensitivity and emotionality of the creators and performers make mime defy obvious definitions.

This year, we invite you to two premieres prepared especially for our festival: one by Chloe Albaret, a former dancer of the Nederlands Dans Theater, and the other by Warsaw-based artist Paulina Szczęsna. Moreover, for the first time, we are honored to host Casa Del Silencio from Colombia and Kauri Honkakoski from Finland. We will also see the latest performance from Mimo Theatre. To conclude, we have prepared a true feast: the Modern Mime Evening, a one-time event not to be missed. Actors from various parts of the world will take you on a theatrical journey, presenting short but remarkably different forms of non-verbal theater.

The festival is organized by the Warsaw Mime Center Foundation, with the Ursynów Cultural Center "Alternatywy" serving as both the venue and co-organizer of this theatrical celebration.
I am confident that these encounters with the ever-evolving art of mime will stir within you that which words cannot express.

Bartłomiej Ostapczuk – Artistic Director of the Festival
